A man of much relaxation

Tirion of Awel Glyn

Face number six. Some characters are just so comforting to paint and Lord Tirion of Awel Glyn is one of my favourites. Here he is taking some deep breaths in the morning sun.

Many moons ago I came across Japanese actor Mansai Nomura who has a wonderful melodic voice that makes me instantly relax. While he tends to play comedic roles, his general ambience is super chill. To me at least. So if course I thought 'he'll make a great reference for the elf Lord Tirion from one of my stories'. Besides Lord Tirion does have an impeccable sense of humour.

Pretty as a petal

Hadn’t painted my elf Freyn for a while. His face is as always based on delightful Colin Morgan, as per request by one of my very good friends who is a huge Merlin fan and suggested I use him. They thought he’d make a good elf, and they were right. :-)

Dem faces

It is indeed the month of the 29 Faces challenge. So far I've managed two. Life's hectic at the mo, what can I say. :-)

A little sparkle

Tirion
I really want to paint Lord Tirion in all his finery with some massive over the top head gear and whatnot. But I always find myself toning him right back. Just a little gentle glitter in the fabric and a silver string in the hair. Perhaps next time. :-)

Autumnal vibes

September
Face number five for the 29 Faces. September. I love Autumn, and judging by today's weather, I think it has arrived.

Pointy eared shenanigans

Face number three. Trying to stay loose.

'And so they march, footfall like thunder, death in their hearts and fire in their eyes.'

And is that blood on his face or tomato pure? We shall never know ;-)

Waiting to accessorize

Tirion
So, this one of Lord Tirion has been hanging for ages... and I do mean aaaages. And it's still not done. It's getting there, but the lord is not averse to a bit of bling and I am currently stumped trying to design said bling. So for know... here he is is... blingless but still smiling benignly as ever. Enjoy. :-)

Moar faces!

The 29 Faces are back! Yay! This February is going to be quite busy for me for various reasons, so I don't know how many faces I will manage. I'm already behind since I was travelling back to the UK from States on the 1st. But here is face number one, an elf in hues of blue. Happy Black History month.

Sparkly sporran

Tirion of Awel Glyn

Tirion
It's done... it's finally, finally done... man that took ages... I just couldn't decide what to do with the belt... That's all it was... the blinkin' belt. So I figured... if in doubt... add some bling ;-) Lord Tirion of Awel Glyn based as always on magical Mansai Nomura :-) <3

Pectoralis major-ly problematic

Tirion
Made myself finish this today... I hate painting chests... I mean, I love chests, they're beautiful... but they're so difficult to paint, trying to hint at the bone structure underneath without overdoing it. Also... I kept the cape. I'm calling this one of Tirion done. As always based on magical Mansai Nomura :-)

Shiny satin

Tirion - wip
Tirion again... because I can ;-) And because I love Mansai Nomura's face :-) Not quite finished... also... not sure about the cape... so a wip for now.

Taller than you...

Tirion
Why finish a painting when you can start another one? Another one of Tirion - which I may or may not work on some more later ;-) based on the one and only Mansai Nomura ;-)

Watcha lookin' at?

Tirion
Gave his lordship a little haircut... I do like elves with short hair. Tirion again, as always based on magical Mansai Nomura :-)
