Moonlighting Viking

Wulfric - rough sketch
That's all the time I have for this one tonight. A very rough Wulfric in the moon light. G'night.

On your right

Aichel - wip
It's been a while since I've last posted a painting. I've started a fair few, but I kept getting stuck. Life's been too busy recently... and I find it very hard to settle down with a painting if I can't find at least a bit of calmness.
But I've been off over Easter visiting home :-) It's been lovely and quiet - not counting watching the entire first season of Supernatural with my brother which made me jump big time. I've started some more paintings while I've been here... I've had to leave them small and sketchy until I get back, 'cause the computer here takes serious offense towards large brush strokes and PSD files in general ;-)
But here's a wip of Aichel - once again based on beautiful Rami Malek. Number 18 for the 29 Faces.

The loveliest smile

Aichel
Finished face number 15, sorcerer Aichel based on beautiful Rami Malek... over half way now. Woot woot!
And, yes, February is over, which means that so is the 29 Faces challenge. But I'll keep going all the same until I reach 29.
‘They said that he could smile in a way that made you believe that the sun had been put in the sky for the sole purpose of lighting up his face.’

Oh, fiddle sticks!

Aichel
Another attempt at Aichel - the banjo playing sorcerer. Face number 5 for the 29 Faces. The first hour went just fine... then I thought I'd just allow myself to go a bit over and make a few adjustments... Bad idea - I started to faff again. I think I need to instigate an egg timer to assist with my self discipline.

Journey of the sorcerer

Aichel
Here is yet another version of Aichel. Sorcerer, demon charmer, banjo player, hater of broccoli and more often than not too darn handsome for his own good.
This attempt was brought on by watching the breathtakingly handsome Rami Malek as King Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum.
Enjoy :-)

This head that I hold...

... it's so tired.

Aichel - wip
I decided to start again with his hair, 'cause I didn't like it, also still working on skin detailing... and I've barely started on the necklaces and the cloak. Ho hum.
I have been utterly exhausted for weeks now - work stuff - and I have decided to give the 29 Faces a miss this time round as a result. It really annoys me. But I'm just so tired.
Zzzzzzz.

Blowing a gale...

Aichel - wip
Sooo... I'm still not done with this one. I'm slowly getting into the skin detailing... I've got a bit stuck on the hair though. It's becoming somewhat windswept... which is ok... I'm just not sure if i like the overall look of it. And I'm experimenting with a stubbly beard thing. It's a bit all over the place.
I blame Merlin... It's got me distracted.

Labour of love...

Aichel - wip
Aichel is one of those funny characters who plays such a huge role in the story although he isn't actually in it. But everything that happens was set in motion by him, and all because of those he loved and those who loved him. He was the man with the plan, and even though he knew the plan would have to involve him dying he never strayed from it, much to the annoyance of those he left behind. Partially because they deeply mourned his loss and partially because he wasn't really one for leaving clear instructions.
I've only attempted painting him once before and he just didn't look right. Mainly because I couldn't quite see him. But then James McAvoy popped up on Tumblr the other day and the fog seems to have started to lift.
But I'm tired now and must go sleep.
Work in progress... just add it to the pile ;-)

Aichel

Aichel
Another sorcerer from my middle earth story. Aichel, best friend of Raynfalg and father of Aisis and step father of elf king Eirian. This made for some interesting family dynamics as Eirian was already two centuries old when Aichel married his mother.
Hope you like him:-)
Ok, bedtime.
