When you see my faces...

Once again I took some time to participate in the 29 Faces challenge. Paint 29 faces during the month of September. I don't think I have ever managed 29 faces in the years I have taken part in the challenge, but it does get me painting. So here are the ones I did this time around.
I have been asked on several occasions why I only paint men. Not something I ever thought about until it was pointed out to me. Well, I'm not one for binary gender constructs, but here is a bunch of ladies... or are they? Who knows? Who cares? Be who you are and be happy! :-D

When you see my face...

Raleigh Samson

Raleigh Samson

... hope it gives you hell! (Samson to Cullen at some point, probably.)

Hokay.... so between a wisdom tooth on the move, commissions and day job, I'm also doing the 29 Faces challenge for September. Of which I will post more faces later. but for now, here's my take on Dragon Age character Raleigh Samson, looking dishevelled and suffering from Lyrium withdrawal. His tale is a sad one indeed. It all happened because I came across the actor Jared Bankens and thought he kinda had a Samson vibe to him and because my wisdom tooth was driving me crazy.

John Shepard

Commander John Shepard - retired

Of course he lived... and then he got to spend his happily ever after with his significant other. That's what happened. :-)

Beards and pockets

Linden with pockets
Fancied painting a beard and some more Asian inspired clothing, so here's a little sketch of my trainer Linden with his hands in his pockets. :-)

Pretty as a petal

Hadn’t painted my elf Freyn for a while. His face is as always based on delightful Colin Morgan, as per request by one of my very good friends who is a huge Merlin fan and suggested I use him. They thought he’d make a good elf, and they were right. :-)

Hakuna Matata

Scar
So, I'm doing the 'give me six characters to make fanart of' thing, and I've had some brilliant suggestion so far. This is the first painting of the challenge and it's actually two requests rolled into one as I was asked if i could do Scar from the Lion King and Jeremy Irons. Watch me gleefully rub my hands together. It also flagged up the fact that the last time I drew Jeremy Irons was before I even hit my teens. Shame on me. I love him and he's beautiful.

T'other way

Dorian Pavus / Ramon Tikaram
Having had much fun with portraying Ramon Tikaram as an older Dorian Pavus, I thought I'd have a go and paint him as a young Dorian. I'm thinking mid-twenties, but I'm rubbish at judging ages, so who knows. ;-)

Happy birthday, boo!

Micky Rodero
Took some time to finish this wip from January. As 2020 have moved on into March this has now become a birthday image for one of my favourite airport employees, since little Micky's birthday is the 6th of March. Many happy returns, honey, and sorry you have man the front desk on your birthday. We'll get you a real nice cake. :-)

Soy Pablo

Ryman Branson
This is an homage to 'Soy Pablo' a Bad Lip Reading of Narcos - the story about Pablo Escobar doppelganger Ryman Branson, former child actor and self described porpoise enthusiast, who is sent in by the DEA to infiltrate drug lord's compound with unexpected results.

I have yet to watch Narcos and I'm not sure that I can now, since I doubt it can live up to this heart warming spoof trailer. If you haven't seen 'Soy Pablo', then do. It's brilliant.

Dem faces

It is indeed the month of the 29 Faces challenge. So far I've managed two. Life's hectic at the mo, what can I say. :-)

The man, the myth, the moustache

Ramon Tikaram / Dorian Pavus
Here's another one of Ramon Tikaram in the guise of the mage he so beautifully voiced, Dorian of House Pavus. Because I love his face so why the heck not.:-)

Happy New Year!

Little Micky - wip
A very happy new year to you all! I had a rather dramatic end to 2019 from an artistic point of view, as my computer decided it did not want to experience the new decade. Luckily, I am a belt and braces kinda cat, so my files are ok, and have now taken up residence on my spangly new machine. And I shall be living on porridge for the foreseeable future. As with everything there are teething issues, but the only way is forwards. So, for now, as I get to know my new beastie, have a wip of Little Micky manning the front desk at the airport on New Year's Eve. Lots of love to you all!
