Magic moustache

Ramon Tikaram / Dorian Pavus
Because it was so much fun the first time round, here's another one of Ramon Tikaram - Dorian's voice actor - as Dorian.
I call this one 'That look you get on your face when you hear someone talking shit about your husband'.
After ten years of marriage to the inquisitor Dorian has grown his hair out a bit, and is still as ready as ever to launch a fireball up the backside of anyone disrespecting his amatus.

You had me at G'day

Mr Albert 'Bert' Johnson
You know those characters that are always there... good, solid, reliable... and in this case perpetually frowning, usually with a half smoked ciggie dangling from the corner of the mouth... Yeah, you know them, right. Well, his name is Bert, he's a 1920's commie cab driver who also helps Miss Fisher with her murder solving... and I would fight all the spiders in Australia for him. He's played by delightful actor Travis McMahon, for whom I would also fight spiders if he's even remotely like his cab driving alter ego in real life.
Seriously, go check out the 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries' series, it's brilliant.

Dear Dorian

Ramon Tikaram / Dorian Pavus
Sometimes you come across a character who just resonates with you so very deeply it's almost infuriating. For me, Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age Inquisition is one of those. There is a spectacular number of reasons for this, and one of them is in no small part thanks to amazing actor Ramon Tikaram who gave him his voice.
Turns out that he is as gorgeous to look at as his voice is to listen to. I simply couldn't resist. I give you Ramon Tikaram as Dorian Pavus.

A little sparkle

Tirion
I really want to paint Lord Tirion in all his finery with some massive over the top head gear and whatnot. But I always find myself toning him right back. Just a little gentle glitter in the fabric and a silver string in the hair. Perhaps next time. :-)

Blowing a hoolie

Bubbles
The word-prompt 'alien' was suggested in the 29 Faces group the other day, for topical reasons, and I suddenly remembered that I had a post it note on my wall saying 'aliens in everyday situations'. So there... Face number 8, an alien blowing bubbles.
To save a bit of time I used a photo I took of this amazing park in Wales as the base for the background. Which means that technically speaking this guy is hanging out in a park in Wales. And you know, if I was visiting from another planet, I would definitively go to Wales. :-)

Oh captain, my captain

Knight Captain Whitfield
Face number 7 for the 29 Faces. A big thanks to my trainer Linden for modelling for this one. And on that note I very much feel the need to add the following disclaimer... No, I did not remove his shirt and cover him in glitter. I made that bit up.

Dim the lights

Face number 6. Woefully behind, I know. I've been so tired this week, but I finally found some energy to finish this today. Also, I was undecided about the lighting, so I present to you all three variations. Enjoy.

Autumnal vibes

September
Face number five for the 29 Faces. September. I love Autumn, and judging by today's weather, I think it has arrived.

Master of Disaster

Catastrophe Jones
You know how, sometimes you hear some words in a certain order and your brain just goes 'That's a person and I'm gonna paint them'.

Face number four for the 29 Faces. Catastrophe Jones.

Pointy eared shenanigans

Face number three. Trying to stay loose.

'And so they march, footfall like thunder, death in their hearts and fire in their eyes.'

And is that blood on his face or tomato pure? We shall never know ;-)

'Tis September

Yudaina
Mission statement for this here 29 Faces: Keep it loose!

Face number one... My nomad king, Yudaina. Based on my most beloved, Hiroyuki Sanada. 'Cause he's brighter than sunshine

This old heart

Micky
... is weak for you.
Little Micky rocking his spangly puffer vest and rainbow sleeves, adding colour to a gloomy day at the airfield.
So, an iridescent puffer vest seemed like a really good idea until I actually started painting it. Did I learn a lot? Yes. Would i do it again? Aaaah!

What a man

A might, mighty good man
Hey gang :-) It's been soooo long since I've had time to do any painting. For various reasons, all of them terribly dull. But here's a little sketch of that mighty, mighty good man to whom most of my heart belongs. ;-)

Waiting to accessorize

Tirion
So, this one of Lord Tirion has been hanging for ages... and I do mean aaaages. And it's still not done. It's getting there, but the lord is not averse to a bit of bling and I am currently stumped trying to design said bling. So for know... here he is is... blingless but still smiling benignly as ever. Enjoy. :-)

Keep talking...

Carth... Kaidan... no wait! Raphael Sbarge
Raphael Sbarge is an actor and film maker who has a delightful habit of regularly turning up in all sorts of tv shows. Which is pretty awesome, because, well so is he.
But before I even knew what he looked like, I knew what he sounded like. Because he is the voice of Carth Onasi. I shall refrain from waxing lyrical, however I can provide a ten page essay on how much I love Knights of the Old Republic should it be required.
And more... he is also the voice of Kaidan Alenko from the Mass Effect trilogy.
On top of all that he just seems like a super neat guy and he has a hella charming smile, so hey, if ever there was a reason to paint him, there we are.

Anyone who knows what love is...

Precious the pilot
Sometimes I wonder why I paint. Sometimes it seems like a rather futile and odd endeavor. Particularly when it makes me want to scream in frustration. And I wonder... why? Why the hell am I doing this... but the answer is really simple... I paint because I can't not. :-)
To put it in the words of Irma Thomas 'Anyone who knows what love is, will understand.'
And speaking of love... here's my first face of the 29 faces and the new year in fact. My pilot, Precious. :-)
